Eight people have been injured after a taxi and a vehicle collided on Jacobs Road near Teakwood Road just after 7am this morning.
Rescue Care paramedics arrived on the scene to find that the vehicles had collided in a partial head on collision. All of the injured were found lying on the side of the roadway. More ambulances were dispatched to the scene as well as Advanced Life Support units. Once all of the injured had been stabilized they were transported to various Durban Hospitals for the further care that they required. The injuries ranged from minor to moderate.
Traffic was severely affected as only one lane was open whilst emergency personal worked to clear the scene. It is unclear what caused the collision however the necessary authorities will be investigating further.
