A road worker is fighting for his life in a Pretoria hospital after being hit by an out of control vehicle this afternoon. The worker was cutting the grass on the roadside of the N4 when a 1400 Nissan bakkie lost control and slammed into him.
Netcare 911 Paramedics arrived on scene to find the worker critically wounded, and the driver of the bakkie with serious injuries. Paramedics worked tirelessly to stabilise the wounded and had to place the critically injured man on a ventilator.
The Netcare 1 medical helicopter with a trauma team on board was called to airlift the critically wounded worker to the Netcare Pretoria East hospital, while the other patient was transported to a hospital in Pretoria for further medical treatment.
