A man in his 60’s was seriously injured when his micro–light crashed while he was attempting to take off from the Tempe airport just outside Bloemfontein this evening. Details of the crash stays a subject for civil aviation to investigate, however it is purported that the micro-light veered off the runway and crashed, injuring the pilot.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived on scene to find the pilot a man in his 60’s with serious injuries near the mangled wreck of his plane. After the patient was stabilised on scene he was transported to a private hospital in Bloemfontein for further medical care.
