14 People, including 2 pregnant ladies escaped from a burning taxi in Bloemfontein. The taxi was filled up with petrol and passengers and on the way to Kimberley when police officials noticed flames and alerted the driver of the vehicle!
When Mr Reuben Motlhabane [the taxi driver] stopped at traffic lights a police vehicle stopped next to him and told him that there were flames beneath the vehicle. The taxi stopped at the corner of Nelson Mandela Drive and President Brand Street.
The passengers quickly exited the vehicle, grabbing luggage on the way out. One of the passengers failed to remove her luggage from the vehicle and it was destroyed in the fire. The scene of the vehicle fire was closed off from other traffic.
