CIT guard critically injured in KwaDukuza shooting

A cash-in-transit security guard is fighting for his life in the Netcare Umhlanga Hospital after he was shot in the face and chest while leaving a retail store in King Shaka Street, KwaDukuza, earlier today.

It is thought that the man exited the shop when he was confronted by four men. A scuffle ensued and he was shot twice. Netcare911 Paramedics found the man in a pool of blood. They along with EMRS Paramedics treated and stabilised the man before he was rushed by ambulance to the Stanger Hospital for further medical intervention. He was later transferred to the Netcare Umhlanga Hospital for specialist care.

It is unknown whether or not money was stolen.
