Cargo plane has tyre blow out after landing at Cape Town Airport

Cape Town Airport

The Airports Company South Africa said it was not expecting any major delays in operations at the Cape Town International Airport following a minor incident involving a plane on Tuesday morning. A cargo plane had a blow out on one of its tyres shortly after landing at the airport just after 4am.

ACSA’s Debra Francis said officials were trying to clear the scene as quickly as possible.

“There is no impact on operations at all. We are making sure that the runway will be clear. We are using the smaller bodied aircrafts and using the secondary runway. We are estimating about an hour and half to clear the main runway,” said Francis.
