Man killed in Manning Road gangland attack

A man was killed and his wife seriously injured in a gangland style attack at their Manning Road premises this evening.

Whilst the details of what transpired are unclear, Netcare911 Paramedics arrived at the scene to find a man in the passenger seat and slumped over the centre consol of a car. He had sustained several gunshot wounds to the chest, back and neck and unfortunately died as a result of these wounds prior to the arrival of medics.

Bullet casings littered the floor and medics were then called to the fourth floor of the flat complex where the man’s seriously injured wife lay in a pool of blood. She had been wounded in the attack and appeared to have fled up the flights of stairs despite having sustained four gunshot wounds to her legs.

She was treated and stabilised at the scene by Netcare911 Paramedics before being transported to the Addington Hospital for further care.
