Two elderly people were attacked in their home in Brakpan in the early hours of this morning. Details of the incident will be investigated by the police.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived on scene to find a male in his late 70’s severely injured and laying on the floor of their house. His wife also in her 70’s sadly died on scene due to the extreme injuries she had sustained.
Paramedics worked fervently to stabilise the critically wounded man .The Netcare helicopter was dispatched to the scene with a trauma doctor on board to assist with the treatment of the patient.
After the patient was placed on a manual ventilator and deftly immobilised on a trauma board, they airlifted him to the Netcare Union hospital for specialised treatment.
