R50 accident
Three people were injured in a snarl-up on the R50 about 10 kilometers out of Bapsfontein this afternoon. It is believed that a man and two women in a Toyota was traveling along the R50 towards Delmas. They were trying to overtake the truck but did not see that the truck was turning into a side road.
The Toyota smashed into the side of the truck, veered of the road and came to rest on a gravel road. Netcare 911 paramedics arrived on scene and after triaging the patients found that two females had sustained serious injuries while the driver sustained minor injuries.
Paramedics deftly immobilised the two seriously injured patients on trauma boards and then transported all the injured to hospital for further treatment.
