Three men were seriously injured when the bakkie they were travelling in overturned on the M13 west bound carriageway near the Village Road turn-off this morning.
The bakkie had been towing an extended trailer with a payload of Armco roadside barriers. It is alleged that the driver of the vehicle lost control after the trailer began to snake violently, causing the bakkie to overturn and skid to a halt at the road shoulder beneath a pedestrian foot bridge.
The men sustained lacerations and abrasions, as well as possible head and spinal trauma. They were treated and stabilised at the scene by Paramedics before they were transported by ambulance to Durban hospitals for further care.
