A man burnt to death when his car burst into flames after colliding with a truck on the N3 freeway near Camperdown on Sunday, KwaZulu-Natal paramedics said.
Earlier it was thought that three people were inside the car which caught fire, Netcare 911 spokesperson Jeff Wicks said.
The cause of the accident was unclear and no other injuries were reported.
