A fifty three year old male had a narrow escape after being hijacked outside his house in Voortrekker road in Pinetown this morning.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the man standing next to a police vehicle, giving details to the police officer. The man had sustained a single gunshot to his right arm. The wound was cleaned and a bandage was placed over the wound to help stop the bleeding. He was stabilised and transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care.

It is believed that the man was on his way to work and had just driven out his gate, climbed out to close the gate to his yard. He turned around and two suspects were inside his vehicle. The man approached his car and a gunshot went off. The suspects got away with his VW Golf.
SAPS are investigating the incident further.
