An industrial accident in the Cleveland area has left a worker fighting for his life in a Johannesburg hospital. The worker was a contractor that was working on a factory roof some 30 meters above ground level. It appears that he stepped onto a weak part of the roof and then plunged 30 meters to the ground.
Advanced life support paramedics Craig Pyott and his team arrived at the factory to find the worker lying prone on the factory floor in a critical condition. Medics worked fervently to stabilise the patients and after skilfully immobilising him on a trauma board, they transported him to the Netcare Union hospital were a trauma team was standing by to take over the medical management of the critically wounded man.
