A construction worker died in hospital this afternoon after falling from a height at a local factory in Pietermaritzburg.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the man lying on the floor and unresponsive. Advanced Life Support Intervention was performed along with CPR. The man had suffered multiple fractures and lacerations. Paramedics rushed the man to Pietermaritzburg Medi-Clinic where trauma staff were waiting to take over.
Unfortunately, due to the severity of the patient’s injuries, he was declared deceased.
It is believed that the man was working at a height and fell, but the exact circumstances around the fall is not know. The necessary authorities would be contacted and an investigation would be done.
