“A 51-year-old security guard shot two his colleagues, two ladies, with a shotgun, one of them in the face and the other in the body,” said Warrant Officer Odette van Staden.
She said the man and the two women were employees of Fidelity Security.
The shooting happened at the Transnet depot on the R28 outside Krugersdorp around 9.45am on Saturday, while the three were on duty.
An eye witness contacted the police shortly after the shooting.
“The man was arrested on the murder scene,” said Van Staden.
She said he claimed he was acting out of self defence.
Beeld newspaper spoke to the eye witness, who said the shooter told him afterwards: “I shot those two b*****s. What were they doing here on my f*****g premises? I killed them.”
He was due to appear in the Krugersdorp Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
Fidelity Security was not immediately available to comment on the incident. – Sapa
