A man is fighting for his life in the Netcare Umhlanga Hospital after the vehicle he was travelling in struck another on the N2 southbound carriageway in the vicinity of the M25 KwaMashu Highway Bridge in the early hours of this morning.
What caused the two vehicles to collide is unknown and will be the subject of a South African Police Force investigation. The common cause of the accident is that one vehicle slammed into the rear of the other.
One man sustained significant head trauma and was in a critical condition when paramedics arrived at the scene. The man was treated and stabilised by medics there before he was transported by ambulance to the nearby medical treatment centre.
