Eleven people were injured, six seriously, when the minibus taxi they were travelling in overturned and rolled repeatedly on the M4 Southern Freeway’s Durban bound carriageway near Congella this morning.
The cause of the accident remains unclear and will be the subject of a South African Police Force investigation. Netcare911 Paramedics arrived at the scene to find the minibus taxi had rolled repeatedly, and while spinning through the air had ejected several occupants from broken windows.
Medics set about treating the wounded who lay strewn about the scene. They were all treated and stabilised there before being transported by ambulance to various inner city hospitals for the medical attention that they required.
