Two people were killed when their helicopter crashed and burst into flames in the backyard of a home in the Rooival area, north of Wonderboom in Pretoria on Tuesday.
Tshwane Fire Brigade spokesman Johan Pieterse said the owners of the home extinguished the fire with water soon after the accident around 4.20pm. No one else was injured.
“On our arrival, the fire was already put out. We are standing by to ensure that the scene is safe, but there is no other danger.”
Ambulances were also on standby. The Civil Aviation Authority would investigate the cause of the accident. –
