Minibus Taxi Overturns on the R300 Highway

R300 (c)
A minibus taxi driver survived a serious collision this afternoon. The collision occurred on the R300 highway 500 meters short of the Kuilsriver off ramp, in the direction of the N1.

The Driver allegedly started to feel drowsy and decided to leave the highway, parking the vehicle next to the road in order to have a rest. He explained that the vehicles front left wheel then made contact with the soft gravel next to the road causing him to lose control of the taxi. The vehicle then overturned into a ditch causing a massive amount of damage to the drivers cab.

When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene the stable yet shocked taxi driver was walking around the scene of the accident. Metro ambulance services later transported the man to hospital. He had sustained only minor lacerations to his face and considered himself as lucky.
