Four people were killed when they were struck by lightning in the Port St John’s area on Sunday afternoon, Eastern Cape police said on Tuesday.

“A 17 and 18-year-old boy were playing soccer in the Maratshu area when they were struck dead by lightning,” said spokesman Captain Mduduzi Godlwana.
