Gauteng police have reported that they are investigating the cause of a head-on collision on the R556 between Brits and Rustenburg which killed six people.
Two others sustained critical injuries during the crash on Saturday night. They are now in a stable condition in hospital.
North West Public Safety Spokesperson, Lesiba Kgwele said, “The accident might have been caused by fatigue by police are investigating the matter and they have opened a case of culpable homicide because the accident occurred on a straight road.”
Provincial Safety MEC Desbo Mohono has sent his condolences to the families of those involved.
