Fans, family and friends of well known South African TV presenter Matthew Stewardson on Saturday expressed shock and disbelief at his death. Stewardson died on Friday afternoon whilst on holiday in Jeffreys Bay, in the Eastern Cape.
Messages of support were posted on popular social networking sites Twitter and Facebook to the family of the former Ktv and Idols presenter.
“Jeffreys Bay police received a phone call of an incident at the beach. According to some witnesses, a 35-year-old man was on the beach when he collapsed,” said Jeffreys Bay police’s Marianett Oliveir.
Police were still investigating the cause of his death but it is believed he suffered a heart attack or a stroke.
The former child star was due to celebrate his 36th birthday on Saturday.
