A family in the suburb of Silver Oaks in Kuilsriver was given a big fright today. At approximately 17:15 this afternoon their three year old son allegedly ran out of the house and fell in the swimming pool. The father found the boy a minute later floating face down in the swimming pool.
The father removed the boy from the pool and immediately started with CPR. When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene the parents had been performing CPR on their son for approximately ten minutes. The paramedics then took over the resuscitation efforts from the parents. After a few minutes the paramedics established that the boy had a pulse.
The boy was then rapidly transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment. He is currently in a stable condition and will be kept in the hospital for observation.
