The Arrive Alive website received an email that we would like to share:
“We have launched a safety campaign by means of a petition and letters written by local businesses directed at the provincial Government.
The purpose of the petition is to gain sufficient support to motivate new safety measures on the R45 to Franschhoek. The most viable and cost effective implementation will be the erection of large “High Accident Zone” boards and the application of raised “Ripples” to the road surface. These “Ripples” must be strategically placed before the various accident hot spots.
So far the businesses in Franschhoek who are supporting us are: Nemisa, Pick an Pay Franschhoek, Alora Restaurant, Bridge House School, Agrimark, Hospice Franschhoek, Paper Cheffs, The Franschhoek Health Club and Manic Cycles. We also have the support of the local SAP , the Fire department and The Tattler news paper. We are also getting all the wine estates en businesses on the R45 to write individual letters.
We would like Arrive Alive South Africa to back us with our campaign. We will be putting up posters at the various businesses and community centres that have volunteered their premises as places where the general public can sign the petition. If you are willing to back us we would like to add your logo to the posters as well as our newsletters and website and Facebook page.
Thanking you for your support, Medicare EMR
