A man to be in his late thirties to early forties is in a serious condition after losing control of his light motor vehicle on Edendale Road and rolled down an embankment into area of bush that was on fire.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the light motor vehicle on its roof, with the driver lying just a few meters away. Lucky for the driver and car, they both had landed in an area where there was no grass. Paramedics made their way down to the patient to assess his injuries. The man had suffered serious facial injuries and possible back injuries. Emergency personnel placed the man on a specialised board and carried him up the embankment, to a waiting ambulance and transported to Greys Hospital for further medical care.
It is believed that the man was heading towards Edendale when he lost control of his car due to unknown reasons and went down the embankment. While the vehicle rolled, the driver was allegedly ejected from the vehicle. Paramedics stated that the man was extremely lucky that he never got burnt due to the fire that around him. Some paramedics boots souls started to melt because of the heat.
