The circumstances surrounding the incident near the Informal Settlement of Seshego are unclear, but a woman has been killed and a man found in a dam 100 meters away.
ER24 paramedics were called to the scene of a single vehicle accident where an Isuzu bakkie had rolled. It seems that the bakkie, which was driving off road near the dam, suddenly hit a loose patch of ground and the driver lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle then rolled and the woman passenger is believed to have been ejected. When the provincial services arrived, she was found underneath the vehicle and in a critical condition.
ER24 paramedics arrived shortly thereafter and had to initiate resuscitation efforts as her condition deteriorated quickly. Sadly, despite all efforts by the paramedics, the young woman died at the scene.
Shortly thereafter, paramedics were called to the nearby dam. For some reason there was a man that was struggling to swim in the water. The rescue divers then had to pull him out of the water, and only then was it connected that he had actually been the driver of the Isuzu bakkie. The man had suffered very minor injuries and he later refused transportation to hospital.
The police were at the scene and they would obtain the exact details surrounding this tragic incident, and the reason as to why the man was found in the dam, approximately 100 meters away.
