A man is fighting for his life in the Steve Biko Academic Hospital after a fall from a quad bike on the corners of Anton and Sinovich Drives in Bronkhorstspruit late yesterday evening.
The cause of the incident and the events leading up to it remain vague.
Netcare911 Paramedics received a report of the call through the 24-hour emergency control centre and responded to the scene. They found that a quad biker had been riding on a gravel track at the roadside when he lost control of the recreational bike.
He was thrown from it and was found lying at the roadside in a critical condition, having sustained significant head trauma.
Advanced life support paramedics intubated the man and placed him on a manual ventilator before he was rushed by ambulance to the medical facility for the lifesaving care that he required.
