A fire has left 25 people homeless in Masiphumelele, Fish Hoek, the City of Cape Town said on Monday.
Spokesperson Wilfred Solomons-Johannes said the fire began in the informal settlement at 23:20 on Sunday night.
Although it was brought under control within an hour, a number of homes were destroyed. No-one was injured
The city’s disaster response team and the social development department distributed food parcels, blankets, baby packs and building materials in the area on Monday morning, said Solomons-Johannes.
He said the cause of the fire was unclear and it would be investigated.
