A bakkie travelling on the main road going past Seoding in Kuruman has crashed into 3 donkeys.
The donkeys were allegedly standing in the middle of the road while the bakkie was travelling between two of the informal settlements in the area. The driver of the bakkie suddenly saw the animals and was not able to avoid them. After crashing into the 3 donkeys the bakkie rolled approximately 20 meters into the roadside field.
The 5 occupants of the bakkie, a woman and 4 men, were able to climb out of the wreck. Paramedics at the scene assessed them and determined that they had been fortunate enough to have only sustained minor scrapes and bruises. They were taken to hospital for further assessment.
Sadly, the 3 donkeys did not survive the accident.
It is not yet known who the donkeys belonged to.
