Taxi crashes into petrol station

A collision occurred this morning at a services station off Montague drive at the corner of Freedom way in Montague Gardens. A white minibus Taxi allegedly experienced some sort of mechanical failure causing the vehicle to veer off the road and into the service station. The taxi then collided with the rear of a white Toyota Conquest, which was refueling at one of the pumps.

The collision was severe as it caused the Toyota conquest to break free from the pump and smash trough the service station shop window. After colliding with the conquest the taxi overturned onto its left side coming to a standstill in the middle of the service station forecourt.

When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene they found that only one person, a 48 year old female, and driver of the Toyota conquest sustained minor injuries to her face. She was treated at the scene before being transported to a nearby medical facility. The driver of the minibus taxi sustained no injuries and the taxi had no passengers at the time of the collision.

Local Fire and rescue services were also at the scene and made the area safe as a fire at the petrol station could have been devastating. Local law enforcement authorities from Milnerton were at the scene and will be investigating the incident further.
