A driver has had a narrow escape after crashing his car into a bridge on the M19 Durban bound in Westville this afternoon.
ER24 paramedics from Pinetown were called to the scene by the local authorities after coming across a light motor vehicle had smashed into a bridge. When the paramedics arrived on the scene, they found the back end of the car had being smashed complete up to the back seat. The driver was found walking around on the scene and complaining of pains to his left shoulder. The driver was examined and found that he had not suffered any other injuries to his body and that he would go to the doctor with his family once they arrived for possible further medical attention.
It is unclear what caused the driver to lose control of his vehicle but it may have been because of mechanical problems as he was taking the corner. The car left the road and went into the centre medium and slid backwards into the bridge. If it had gone front wards the driver would have not being so lucky.
