With everyone on high alert with the strange weather system hitting our country today the incident where a man died in his shower this morning is bizzarre indeed.
ER24 paramedics rushed out to a cottage on the property of a private residence in Parkwood this morning with an urgent call that someone inside the cottage may have been struck by lightning. When they arrived in the home, the 33 year old man was slumped inside the bath. Sadly, there was no signs of life and the man was declared dead.
It is believed that the man was in the shower during the very bad storm in the area this morning. The home’s garden and surrounding areas had been seriously affected by the storm and a nearby school’s roof had allegedly almost been blown off. People on the property had stated that there was a number of loud, and seemingly close proximity lightning strikes at or near the residence.
When the man had not emerged from the bathroom and gone to work, the other residents had tried to call him on him phone but to no avail. They had then entered his home and heard the water in the bathroom running, but even as they called out to him there was no answer. Worried, they entered the bathroom and found the man lying in the bath. The shower heads and taps were all made of steel.
It can only be suspected that the lighning had played a part in the man’s death as he was otherwise said to be fit and healthy.
