A man had his foot crushed while loading a vehicle on a trailer in the Menlyn area yesterday. The man was busy loading a Jeep at the Chrysler Jeep Dodge Dealership next to the Talisman business to be taken for repair when the “wishbone” at the front of the trailer gave way under the weight of the Jeep.
The weight of the trailer with the Jeep on top came down on the foot of the assistant. Workers from Jeep, Universal paints and Talisman came running to assist the injured worker and through determined teamwork managed to lift the trailer high enough to move the crushed foot from beneath the trailer. Approximately 10 guys assisted in the rescue efforts.
The trailer rested for about 2 minutes on the foot before enough men were able to lift the trailer. The injured person was rushed to hospital without further delay!
