A fisherman lost his life after falling into the sea on the Durban beach front at around 03h40 this morning. It is believed that the man was fishing from the pier in front of the Blue Waters hotel when he fell into the sea. Exact details to the cause of the incident must still be determined by the police.
Netcare 911 paramedics their rescue team as well as the police search and rescue arrived to find the man floating in the waves. Captain Troy Allison swam our and retrieved the fishermen, tragically he was declared dead by the Netcare paramedics on scene.
