A collision late yesterday afternoon left two people injured after two bakkies collided into each other on the N2 at the Lwandle turning.
Emergency personnel arrived on the scene and found that two bakkies had been involved in the collision and that the one had ended inside a ditch, while the second one was found a few meters away on the other side of the ditch. The driver and passenger of the red bakkie that was in the ditch were mechanically entrapped and rescue services were able to extricate them fairly easy.
The passenger of that bakkie sustained serious injuries and had to be placed on a spinal board due to the impact and injuries that he had sustained from the crash. The driver of the bakkie was examined but would go and see his doctor later for further medical care if need be. The driver of the white bakkie also sustained injures from the collision and was stabilised on scene. All patients were transported to various hospitals for further medical care.
It is unclear who was at fault in this accident but the local authorities were on the scene and would investigate the accident further.
