An 18 month old little girl was found in a residential pool at a house on Elise Road in Fontainebleau, Randburg.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident, and the reason that the baby was around the pool are not known at this stage. It is also not known as to how long the girl had been in the water before she was discovered.
It is alleged that the neighbour hear a commotion at the home and climbed the wall to get to where the little girl was in the pool. She was not breathing and the neighbour started life saving CPR. After a few minutes, the child started breathing on her own again and when ER24 paramedics arrived at the home they took over treatment. The child was icy cold from being in the water, but she was fortunately still alive.
The baby was further stabilised on the scene before being taken to Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital by ambulance.
