One person is in a serious condition and another two people have sustained minor to moderate injuries after a taxi and a light motor vehicle collided on the D828 between Marrianhill and Shongweni Saturday evening.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found both vehicles off the road and into dense bush. The driver of the taxi was found outside of the vehicle and in a serious condition. He had suffered a possible head injury and spinal injuries from the impact of the collision. He was placed on a specialised board and put in to the waiting ambulance. The remaining two patients had suffered minor cuts and bruises and were put in to the ambulance. All three patients were transported to R K Khans Hospital for further medical care.
It is unclear who was at fault but SAPS were on scene and would investigate the accident further.
