Pedestrian Airlifted From Kraaifontein

A man in his 50’s has been seriously injured after being knocked by a taxi on Voortrekker Road in Kraaifontein Thursday afternoon.

We believe that the man was trying to cross the road to catch a taxi when another taxi knocked him. The front passenger side of the taxi collided with the man and when paramedics arrived at the scene he was in a serious condition. He was in a state of semi consciousness and needed immediate stabilisation. The paramedics paced him on life saving equipment and called in the ER24 Discovery Medicopter to assist with transportation of the man to hospital.

The man was airlifted in a critical condition to Tygerberg Hospital.

No occupants of the taxi were injured in the accident.
