6 year old pupil airlifted after speeding taxi crahes into him

A 6 year old boy has been seriously injured this morning after being struck by a taxi at high speed on Lavis Drive near 35th Avenue.

The boy was unaccompanied during the time of the collision and was on his way to school .Then without warning the taxi collided with the boy at high speed catapulting him to the side of the road.

When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene they found the boy dressed in his school uniform on the sidewalk next to the busy road. The boy was being attended to by concerned members of the public who witnessed the incident. The child had sustained a severe injury to his left leg in the form of a fracture and was in severe pain.

On-scene paramedics then dispatched the ER24 Discovery Medicopter to the scene. The child was then treated at the scene before being airlifted to the Red Cross Children’s hospital for further medical care. Local law enforcement authorities were at the scene and will be investigating the incident further.
