A young man has sustained critical injuries after falling 2 stories onto a ledge at a block of flats on Cameron Street in Georginia, Roodepoort.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are not clear, and the man, who was critically injured, attempted to explain that he had slipped off of his 3rd floor balcony. Neighbours only said that the man was on the balcony with friends when the incident happened.
When paramedics arrived at the scene, they were taken to a neighbouring flat where they had to climb over the balcony and walk along the 2 meter wide ledge to where the man lay. He was stabilised for his various injuries and was taken from the ledge with the help of Fire and Rescue Services who pulled the Fire Engine close enough to the ledge for paramedics to get the man down and into the ambulance.
The young man was transported through to Leratong Hospital for further treatment.
