A head on collision involving a bakkie and a light motor vehicle has left one driver in a serious condition, while the second driver only sustained minor to moderate injuries. The accident happened on the R511 near Four Ways in the early parts of yesterday evening.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the bakkie and the light motor in the middle of the road, both had extensive damage. The driver of the bakkie was still entrapped and in a serious condition. The driver believed to be in his late 30’s had a metal rod that had penetrated his leg, making his extrication very difficult. Once freed the man was transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care in a serious but stable condition.
The driver of the other light motor vehicle was treated for very minor to moderate injuries, consisting of cuts and bruises.
