2 Teens killed in Sundra road crash

[Sundra 15 September 2011 12:30]

Two teenagers have been killed after they were allegedly trying to cross over the R555 after school this afternoon. The details surrounding the tragic accident are at this stage unclear, but it seems that the initial accident occurred when two vehicles collided into one another, spun out of control and knocked the two youngsters over.

Both teens, a boy and a girl appearing to be around the age of 17, were flung onto the ground and they had suffered extensive injury. There was sadly nothing further that paramedics could do for them as they had already succumbed to their injuries as Emergency Personnel arrived at the scene. They were both declared dead by paramedics, and both still wearing their school uniform.

Both the Toyota Corolla and Toyota single cab bakkie were extensively damaged in the accident, both of them coming to rest on the side of the road. The 3 occupants of the Corolla and one occupant of the bakkie did not require further medical care at the scene as they had not sustained any physical injury in the accident.

The police attended the scene and will investigate all necessary aspects of the accident.
