Man Falls 5m From Roof of Town House

[JOHANNESBURG – 26 SEPTEMBER 2011 AT 21H00]

A man believed to be in his early 30’s working at a block of Town Houses in Bryanston is in a serious condition after falling about 5m off a roof and landing on the hard ground below. The incident took place about three o’clock this afternoon but was only found about seven o’clock when the residence of the town house came home from work.
ER24 were quickly notified of the incident and rushed to the scene.

Once on the scene they found the man lying on the floor and complaining of pains to his back region. Paramedics assessed the patient before they placed him on a specialised board which would help stabilise his neck and back from any further movement. Once stabilised, he was transported to Life Fourways Hospital in a serious but stable condition for further medical care.

It is believed that the man was cleaning the roof of the town house when he lost his footing and fell.
