Woman found sitting in a tree, injured and disorientated

[Pretoria 7 October 2011 15:00]

A strange incident happened in Lynnwood Manor this afternoon where a young woman, appearing to be in her early 20’s, was found injured and sitting in a tall tree on another owner’s residence in Mopani Street.

It is believed that the woman was injured at around 11am this morning after an unknown domestic incident at another residence in Pretoria. A security company was alerted, but the woman had already fled the scene before they arrived.

The young woman was found sitting in a tree, mildly disorientated, and not willing to climb down. Paramedics were called as the woman was visibly injured and bleeding from injuries to her arms. Not even paramedics could convince the woman to get out of the tree, so they took it upon themselves to approach her slowly and climb the tree high enough to get her to come down. Almost 30 minutes later, the woman was on solid ground and being treated for her injuries by the Advanced Life Support Paramedic. She was taken by ambulance to the Steve Biko Academic Hospital.

The details surrounding the actual cause and nature of the incident remain unclear, but the local police will investigate the details.
