A man has been killed and another critically injured after a side impact collision on the R566 near the M17 in Ga Rankuwa this morning.
Paramedics arrived at the scene to find a BMW sedan and a Toyota Corolla that were extensively damaged in the collision. At this time it is not clear as to what caused the accident or as to who was at fault, but the BMW had frontal damage and the Toyota was badly damaged on the driver’s side.
The initial call came in as two men with severe injuries, but as paramedics arrived, they determined that the driver of the BMW had already succumbed to his injuries and he died at the scene. The driver of the Corolla was in a critical condition and he was quickly removed from the car and stabilised for transportation to Acacia Hospital in Pretoria.
There had been only one occupant in each vehicle at the time of the collision.
All relevant details of the incident will remain part of a Police investigation.
