A taxi carrying 16 people which included 11 children and 4 adults lost control on the R82 and went off the road and went though some trees and a golf course before coming back onto the road near Walkerville this evening.
ER24 paramedics and other emergency personnel arrived on the scene and found the taxi on the road with extensive damage to either side of the vehicle. Most of the commuters were found walking around on the scene. The children all under the age of ten were assessed and found they had suffered very minor injuries of cuts and bruises. The adults had also suffered very minor injuries. All patients were transported to various hospitals for further medical care.
It is unclear why the driver lost control of the taxi but the necessary authorities will investigate the accident further.
