Taxi and Bakkie collide in Kimberley

4 people have sustained injuries this morning when a minibus taxi and a bakkie collided in Oliver road in Kimberley.

The cause of the collision is unknown, but when ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene they found a total of 4 male occupants, all from the bakkie, in need of medical attention. All 4 male’s sustained injuries ranging from multiple scrapes and bruises to suspected back and neck injuries.

The men received on-scene treatment before being immobilised to special boards. All the patients were later transported to Mediclinic Kimberley for further medical care.

A further 6 occupants from the minibus taxi refused any on-scene treatment and transportation to a medical facility. Local law enforcement authorities who attended the scene will be investigating the incident further.
