[Potchefstroom – 12 November 2011 at 13h00]
On the R501 between Carltonville and Potchefstroom, a truck driver some how lost control and veered off the road and rolled on to a bed of rocks this afternoon.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the truck upside down with the cabin severely damaged. Paramedics looked inside the cabin and could just see the driver who was unresponsive. Due to the severity of the damage of the cabin of the truck, paramedics could not gain access to the vehicle until Fire Department arrived with all the necessary rescue equipment to gain entry.
Once they were able to get to the patient, they found that the patient had already succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead on the scene.
The necessary authorities were on the scene and would investigate the accident further.
