A 44 year old lady sustained injuries today after she was allegedly thrown off her horse while riding with friends in Kommetjie.
The cause of the horse throwing the lady is not yet known, but Cape Medical Response (CMR) paramedics found the lady in the field in severe discomfort.
The lady had sustained suspected injuries to her back and neck. Due the possible injuries sustained and the distance to the nearest appropriate medical facility, on scene paramedics promptly dispatched the ER24 Discovery Medicopter to the scene.
The lady was then treated at the scene before being airlifted to Mediclinic Constantiaberg for further medical care.
