A head on collision on Malibongwe Drive past the Lanseria airport in the direction of Brits has left 2 men dead and another with multiple injuries.
Paramedics arrived at the scene to find 2 vehicles that were extensively damaged at their front ends, with parts of the two vehicles strewn across the road. The two men who were in what appears to be a VW Polo did not survive the impact, and their bodies needed to be cut out of the wreck by Fire and Rescue workers using the Jaws of Life.
The driver of the Ford bakkie was left with extensive injuries, but he was stable and alert. He was treated for broken bones in his leg as well as chest injuries. The man in his 40’s was taken to Leratong Hospital by ambulance.
